No one would ever actually stand up in front of their friends
and say they love driving a "minivan," but if they did, it would probably be a very family friendly, fuel efficient,
fun to drive vehicle with loads of interior features designed around convenience and organization.
Honda Motor Company has for years designed and built quality cars and trucks
for sale around the world. The 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan is certainly no different. Since its inception, the Odyssey has
been marketed as a game changer. Always full of innovation and value for the family who needs a little bit of everything.
The 2014 Odyssey comes with some new options including the HondaVAC,
an onboard vacuum cleaner developed alongside another industry-leader, Shop-Vac. No more worrying about the spills that are
sure to take place on the way to or from soccer practice. Simply fire it up and stretch out the hose, cleans easily between
the seats and conveniently tucks away in the rear cargo area for storage.
Several trim levels are available to choose from, every budget has been taken into consideration.
The premium level is highlighted with available heated front row seats to combat our cold Canadian winters. Power lift gates,
power moon roofs, and remote starts are all available if you are willing to part with a little more of your money. As with
most new cars available today, you can also become very technology savvy with things like Satellite-Linked Navigation with
trilingual Voice Recognition. Steering wheel mounted controls including stereo, volume control, phone answering and cruise
control. Bluetooth streaming audio and USB interface make playing your own choices a snap. For the audiophile in all of
us, there is an available upgrade to the 650-watt AM/FM/CD Premium sound with MP3/Windows Media Audio complete with 12 speakers
including a powerful subwoofer.
A V-6 engine
which produces 248 horsepower to move all the family from A to B. Combined fuel economy is a very respectable 9.2L/100km.
The engine has the ability to operate on fewer cylinders when not needed for power, raising your fuel economy to an even
more impressive 7.1L/100km. Not bad at all for a vehicle of this size and able to carry the whole family. There is a Lane
Departure Warning system, and a Forward Collision Warning system aimed at keeping you safe and aware of what is happening
around you.
One of the features that I liked
about the Odyssey was when I was outside trying to lock the doors. One of the cabin doors was left slightly ajar and it would
not let me lock the door until proper contact was made. In other words, you can't lock the doors until all doors are in fact
closed, assuring you no keys will ever be locked inside.
If
you are in the market, give it a ride. I don't think you will be disappointed at all.
