If you are looking for that "HOT" new techie gadget, the all-new Nokia Lumia 800, is that gadget. It is chalk full of the latest technical wizardry. Nokia has certainly developed themselves a winner in the eyes of this writer, and that of my 6-year-old daughter.

From the moment we were asked to take it for a test drive, I was hooked. Available in a wide array of colours, enough to satisfy even the most finicky of cell phone aficionados. The Lumia 800 would no doubt make a great Mother's Day gift, if dad is snooping around looking for ideas. Just sayin'.

The 800 is a seamless design with a 3.7" AMOLED ClearBlack glass touchscreen display for seeing things more clearly. It is equipped with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email capable, Chat, SMS, all for the asking if your rate plan includes such items. They work flawlessly and very quickly.

The Internet is quickly accessed through Bing, Internet Explorer 9, HTML5, and of course is Wi-Fi capable.

The photo taker in all of us is made easy by the 8MP Auto Focus lens with Carl Zeiss Optics, 2x LED Flash and HD Video. I have been known to take a few pictures and with this phone, it really is a snap. I am really enjoying the ease of use. It has a lighter weight than some of the other new smartphones I have tested. 9.5 hours talk time and an incredible 335-hour standby time.

My 6-year-old daughter picked this phone up and had it fully operational within minutes. She was playing games and recording HD Video of her sisters right away. Her only question, "when your done playing with it mommy, I want it, okay?"

Nokia Lumia 800 is a definite winner and should not be overlooked if you are considering a cell phone upgrade. It is sure not to disappoint.
