Happy Holidays and Happy Paws

2017 was another banner year, both personally and professionally. I reached several of my own internal goals, as well as assisted members of my family to achieve their own success. With each passing year, I try to reflect on those things that make me happy. No matter what I may look forward to trying to accomplish, it all seems to come back to two things; am I happy and is my family happy. The rest just seems to be window dressing.

Having said that, one of the things that gives me the most joy is time at home with my husband, my kids and of course my beloved fur baby, Paisley.

As a Purina Pet People Ambassador for the past 2 years, I can honestly say that Paisley has benefitted tremendously from the products and services they provide to their customers. They care deeply about their clients and the pets they serve. Always striving for the next best product, be it something new in nutrition or your dogs well-being. Events like the one I attended in Barrie where Purina supplied dog owners with the opportunity to discuss their puppies health and wellness. They were able to make suggestions to clients on how to make being a dog owner a more fulfilling experience. I learned a few new things about my dog, and I have been a dog owner my entire life.

It also gave me the opportunity to meet some new people, new friends and of course, new dogs.

This years theme was focussed around "Living Big." What I took away from this years program was to try to do things I wouldn't ordinarily do with my dog. Paisley just turned 2 years old last week and has successfully put several of those things that stressed her out in the rear view mirror. She is a much more confident dog, both inside the home and out. The little things that used to terrify her, like loud noises don't seem nearly as crippling to her. She is able to be in the same room now with the hair dryer in operation. 6 months ago, that would have been a pipe dream.

I thank Purina and their team of dog lovers for pushing us all year long to be better pet owners. Paisley has certainly been the beneficiary of their expertise.

The fact that she loves the Purina Beggin' Strips and the Purina ONE Smartblend dry dog foods is an added bonus. If I can only get her to eat in the kitchen, rather than dragging her bowl into the living room and separating the different morsels into which she likes best, then maybe I will have seriously accomplished something.

As the Holidays approach, I urge everyone to be good to their pets. For those of you considering a puppy as a Christmas gift, take the time to research which breed is good for your family. Great Danes don't belong in apartment buildings.

I must go shopping now for little Paisley's gifts, as I do believe she needs a new sweater and booties

Happy Holidays from the WonderMoms family.
