Our holiday wish list for the puppy

As we are headed into this holiday season, I will try to reflect on what the past year has brought into and out of my life. There have been several memorable milestones, the least of which was my oldest daughter graduating high school and getting accepted into university. A very proud momma moment for sure.

But the truth be known, the most memorable moment this past year has to have been the addition of our new family member, Paisley. She has brought our family so much excitement and joy; it is simply immeasurable. Having lost our other two pups to sickness and old age, Paisley has aided in taking away the empty feeling that comes with the loss of a pet. They bring so much joy and laughter into our lives, no matter how you are feeling. When you are sick, they instinctively know you are under the weather and know just when to snuggle. She can take a sad moment and turn it upside down.

The kids have been preparing their wish list for Christmas in hopes of getting that "must have" new item that everyone is already raving about, but what about Paisley? Does she not deserve that same level of involvement? Why can't she have her own wish list this Christmas?

I'm sure if she could speak to us, she'd be full of ideas on how to make her life more enjoyable and fulfilling. But seeing as though she can't I have decided to compile a wish list for her.

1) First and foremost, I think Paisley would love a new baby sister, someone to keep her company at night and make playing in the yard that much more fun. We are currenting looking on PetFinder.

2) Next, I think she'd like a fluffy comfy bed, you know the one that makes sleeping upside down with paws in the air more comfortable.

3) And then there is the half moon glass pet window that mounts into fence boards to see her puppy friends next door.

4) If she was a good girl this year, Santa might make sure her stocking was filled with her favourite Purina snacks and treats.

5) We love giving back, as when she was spayed we went to the SPCA, they donate the fees to shelter animals. We will be making a donation to the local Humane Society, on behalf of Paisley.

6) She loves chewing on socks, slippers and pant legs, we might make her some knitted dog bones and sneak them into her stocking.
