Got my Mojo Back

My New Diet

I have recently began a new transformation, something I needed...wanted...and desired. The lightbulb finally went off one day when I looked into the mirror and did not like the extra "flab". I know my body is thanking me now.....believe me I have had countless nights of tossing and turning wondering how the heck was I going to do this, how would I give up Coca-Cola, how would I give up eating whatever I wanted and whenever I wanted. Maybe I was convincing myself not to, in fear of the unknown.

I owe many thanks to my friends on Facebook and other Social Media sites for encouraging me, giving me advice and also just letting me write updates and follow along with my journey. How am I losing the weight you ask? Exercise and diet...simple

My morning consists of a Vega smoothie, that may contain the following

One huge scoop of Vega powder
1/2 cup Coconut Water ( Zico Pure Coconut Water)
One teaspoon of ground flax seeds
1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt
A dash of WheatGrass
Two or three raspberries and blueberries
Two banana's
Kale

I mix it up in a blender and usually have enough for two glasses of smoothies. That will give me enough strength to workout at the gym in the morning. If I am still hungry I will have some grapes or a hard boiled egg with my tea. I also cut out white sugar and now use Agave and just recently starting using almond milk as an alternate to white milk.

Another important component of my weight loss journey is taking Vitamins.  Adult Essentials are new on the market, and they are Gluten and Nut Free. Everyday I take Omega-3 , Advanced B-Complex, Enhanced Multi- Vitamins (which contain Omega-3 DHA & EPA) and the Adult Strength Vitamin D. I have a hard time swallowing pills and vitamins, so these gummies are the best choice. There is no bitter after taste or chalky residue that most vitamins leave behind.

The gym part I blogged about here, and still go 5-6 times a week. While I am at the gym I usually drink about three bottles of water. Post work-out I will make the same smoothie with lots of protein to help build my muscle after my exercise.

Lunch is simple for me, I usually eat Vegan at Kindfood a couple times a week and have fallen in love with the Buddha Bowl. It includes organic brown rice, grilled sweet potato, diced red onion and tomato with almonds, sunflower seeds, herbs, olive oil and tamari. Also another fave is the BLAT Sandwich. The Buddha Bowl is enough for lunch and dinner. Snacks throughout the day are Vega protein bars, I have them in the car and in my purse. One protein bar and a bottle of water keeps me going for awhile.

You can do it, if you set your mind to it. I started this journey in the beginning of August and my goal was to lose 15 pounds. I have successfully surpassed that goal and now I am thrilled to announce I have lost 17 pounds My mojo is back baby!!  Update I have lost 25  pounds!!
