At this time of year, I love to hear stories of corporate
Canada giving back. One such company is Canadian Tire Corporation. They have recently put forward an initiative towards
spreading Christmas cheer to those less fortunate. #SpreadTheCheer
The goal of this project was to bring together Canadian families whose loved ones may be spending time in
the hospital over the holidays. Canadian Tire teamed up with nine Children's Hospitals across Canada, donating decorations
and gifts throughout.
They worked very closely
with each of the Hospitals to customize and install décor, and donating a variety of Christmas décor ranging
from inflatable Santas to Christmas trees, ornaments and lights in addition to gifts for patients as well. It truly warms
my heart to see that they get it and are thinking of others during the holidays.
In total, Canadian Tire has donated more than 10,000 feet of lights, thousands of ornaments,
dozens of inflatable Santas and indoor/outdoor décor items in addition to more than 2000 gifts for the patients.
They have compiled a wonderful video featuring the nine decorated
children's hospitals across the country. Christmas remains my favorite time of year and I absolutely love to hear of stories
like this. Canadian Tire and its staff should be commended for their thoughtfulness and their efforts during the holidays.
