Howdy! Disneyland is unwrapping a very large present on June 15th!

Disneyland and our friends from Radiator Springs have something very exciting to show us. I don't know about everyone else, but when the word "Disney" gets bandied about in my home, a series of happy dances begin to take place. Why not, after all it is the happiest place on earth.

In a move that has been several years in the making, the Disney Designers and Imagineers have been stored away in a secret hideaway coming up with the next big thing. From the huge success of the Cars movie franchise, it was only a matter of time before a new theme park would become a reality, dedicated to the little ones who live for movie characters such as Mater, Sarge, Flo, Luigi and of course Sally Carrera.

Their home in Radiator Springs will be brought to life this June 15th with the usual pomp and circumstance that only Disney can provide.

Whether you want to wander around basking in the California sunshine or riding on some cool new rides, many options are available. Radiator Springs Racers is a an attraction sure to be a fan favourite for years to come. Take the wheel and whirl around the tracks of this fun-filled roadway where you can get glimpses of the world from the car's perspective! Drivers of almost all ages can experience the thrill of putting their pedal to the metal on this imaginative motorway.

Luigi's Flying Tires is a cool new adventure, a case of bumper cars turned on it's ear and redesigned as only Disney can do. Simply tilt your body in the direction you wish to travel and the folks at Disney take care of the rest.

As a self professed aficionado of anything Disney, I am so excited to be heading down for the Grand Opening of Cars Land. Having traveled to Disney World several times as a child, I can attest to it being considered the happiest place on earth. One of my fondest memories growing up is being at Disney with my parents and relatives who live in Florida year round. I can remember going on the Haunted Mansion 4-5 times a day with my Uncle, or riding the Pirates of the Caribbean Adventure Ride over and over. Some 30 years later, we still talk about it at family gatherings.

The only thing that has changed is that my own family is now in attendance and the focus of the vacation. Disney World and Disneyland have this ability to make you forget about everything else and allow you the freedom to become a child all over again. Seeing the looks on their little faces as Mickey Mouse walks up and says hello, is worth every penny. It has created for them, a lifetime of memories that I hope to share someday with their children.

Disney has perfected in every sense of the word, "Magic." Everything they touch has a sense of whimsy and bewilderment. I can remember saying to myself on several occasions, "OMG, how did they do that." The Disney Imagineers leave you wanting more and with a feeling of happiness and satisfaction. Disney Cars Land should be no different.
