Paisley's Wonderful Life

I have said this before, but it never ceases to amaze me just how much joy our little Paisley has brought into our life in such a short time. Although she is still in her learning stage of life, she aims to please each and every day.

We, as a family are intent on making sure her life with us is as fulfilling for her as it has been for us so far. Paisley is always so rambunctious and playful, no matter the time of day. She wakes up in the morning and is already a million miles an hour. It's hard to keep up with her pace.

My youngest loves the long walks to and from the park. They play tag on the playground with all the other kids. When she gets home from the park, she drops to the floor and is out for an hour.

It is important to make sure when she goes to the park; she takes the essentials with her for Paisley. A bottle of water with her portable Purina water dish, and some healthy snacks to munch on while away from home. Purina Beggin' Strips are good for her and she can't get enough of them. They contain a healthy level of protein, fat and fibre to aid in your dogs proper intake.

The NEW flavour Purina One Smartblend with Turkey and Venison is definitely her favourite mealtime choice. I think she likes the difference in textures, one is soft and chewy and the other is crispy. She usually separates them onto the floor. It is quite humorous to watch actually. She does however, eat every last bit.

With each passing month it seems, Paisley is coming to terms with her own idiosyncrasies and anxieties. We worked quite diligently at ridding her of her fear of the hair dryer. We feel that we have that under control now, however, opening up the ironing board or use of the steam function on the iron is still a work in progress. I don't know where these anxieties originate from, but we will eventually make her feel comfortable around these everyday implements.

The family is already in planning mode for the annual trek to the cottage in Muskoka. Paisley enjoyed the lake last year and we look forward to spending long days in and around the water. Instinctively, dogs know how to swim which is kind of cool. Why can't my kids already have that innate ability? A mothers life at the cottage would be so much more relaxing as I am not only the maker of meals, the applier of sunscreen, the grocery shopper, but I also have to add lifeguard on duty to my resume for a few weeks a year.

Don't get me wrong, I relish the opportunities to spend quality time with my family, be it at home or away on vacation. I am a realist and know that it won't always be this way. The kids will grow up and eventually reach the age where it's no longer cool to hang with the family.

It's that time of the day again and Paisley is pacing at the front door.
